However, that's not the full extent as well. She's got a score of holo reverse copies of this particular card, showing the little guy with shiny foil everywhere but the central artwork. The most valuable item, though, turns out to be the PSA 6-rated reverse holographic Bonsly card. Sure, it's not a top-graded Charizard illustration. The Start of the Obsession

Hopkins has spent a large part of this year gathering all available Bonsly cards from that year available on the market. She initially learned regarding this discontinued card earlier this year, while debating the most infamous cards in the Pokémon TCG with an employee in a nearby store. Omanyte in tears was a contender, just like the lonely Cubone on a park ride. However, the one that Crying Bonsly, also known as Bonsly #17, that grabbed her interest.

Behind Bonsly's Look

Bonsly is obviously influenced from miniature trees, that are commonly placed in containers with holes at the bottom. These are meant to support healthy development, to the extent that fans encourage each other to drill holes in their containers if holes are missing. They can also be positioned on shallow pots lacking drainage, called suiban, and the collected moisture may assist growers arrange their bonsai to mimic natural landscapes. Bonsly fits the initial category, which explains the hole.

A Memorable and Notorious Card

Even with this reasonable background, yet, Pokémon's creators looks a bit overly focused regarding the hole in Bonsly. Also, products such as Bonsly plush toys always incorporate a hollow cavern at the bottom of the tree-like Pokémon. She quickly got into a routine of stopping by her local card shop every week, and earned the nickname among the staff as the Bonsly fan. They started reserving all incoming this specific card it received exclusively for Emily. The majority of these are priced at one to three dollars, she notes, approximating her total expenditure is approximately four hundred dollars only on the album itself.

Market Trends and Value

Nowadays, mint-condition Bonsly #71 cards might be valued at around fifteen dollars. While that is a premium price, ordinary versions are often priced at four dollars or more. This rise in cost more or less coincides with when Hopkins started her collection in earnest, but it's possible that various influences. While it's true that the card is notorious in the community, her online content on it have received countless views. With information regarding Bonsly #71 expands further among more people, there's a chance their market price may continue to shoot up. At the very least, enthusiasts say that TCG prices are soaring currently across the board.
